The purpose of this [Once] Daily [Now Weekly] SMS-blog is to expose warnings and patterns from the past — to remedy the amnesia that Ecclesiastes lamented:
There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. (Old Testament | Ecclesiastes 1:11; side bar*)

#104: The Voice of the Herd
“The gregarious tendency in man, according to Mr. [Wilfred*] Trotter, results in five characteristics which he displays in common with all gregarious animals.
1. "He is intolerant and fearful of solitude, physical or mental." ...
2. "He is more sensitive to the voice of the herd than to any other influence." ...
3. "He is subject to the passions of the pack in his mob violence and the passions of the herd in his panics."
4. "He is remarkably susceptible to leadership." ...
5. "His relations with his fellows are dependent upon the recognition of him as a member of the herd."”**
“The gregarious tendency, Mr. Trotter believes, is biologically fundamental. He finds therefore that the herd reaction is not confined to outbreaks such as panics and mob violence, but that it is a constant factor in all human thinking and feeling.”***

Wilfred Batten Lewis Trotter, FRS[1] (3 November 1872 – 25 November 1939) was an English surgeon, a pioneer in neurosurgery. He was also known for his studies on social psychology, most notably for his concept of the herd instinct, which he first outlined in two published papers in 1908, and later in his famous popular work Instincts of the Herd in Peace and War, an early classic of crowd psychology. Trotter argued that gregariousness was an instinct, and studied beehives, flocks of sheep and wolf packs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilfred_Trotter
